Our Story

Welcome to Chattabrewchee Southern Brewhouse, a vet-owned craft brewery located in Columbus, Georgia. We are proud to be a pet and family-friendly destination, and we love to host events that bring our community together. At our taproom, we sell high-quality malt beverages (beer) and distribute to a limited market in and around our area.

Our brand name, Chattabrewchee, is a playful pun that reflects our commitment to brewing beer in the Chattahoochee River Area. Although some other breweries and bars have similar names, we are the only true Brewchee in the area.

In compliance with Georgia law, we are only licensed to sell alcoholic beverages that are produced within our brewery. Our competitors in Phoenix City, Alabama, can sell other products because each state has its own unique set of laws.

Our brewery originally opened in West Point, Georgia, in 2017 before moving to Columbus in 2019. We are now located in the vibrant art district of downtown Columbus, where we continue to produce exceptional beer. In early 2022, our current owners, Nicole and Beau Neal, purchased the business and brand. Since then, they have incorporated their own recipes while preserving many of the classic beers produced by the previous management.

Our beloved possum mascot is a nod to the original owner's fondness for these quirky creatures. Nicole and Beau have embraced the possum's unique qualities and believe that it represents the spirit of Chattabrewchee Southern Brewhouse.
